Easy and Useful

Kommentare: Fast and easy editor for any major purposes of writing , editing or summarizing.

Vorteile:

Easy to deploy,Easy export to other file formats,pretty intuitive workflow, doesn't mess up the layout while inserting images or other external files.

Nachteile:

Limited choice of templates, the ones I saw look like documents from 80's Had some limitation in terms of presentations and logos, printing layouts are different from what the display is showing and need to be adjusted manually.

Exceeding expectations

Kommentare: I a versatile tool for creating professional documents like brochures and flyers for my business, but i also used personally for my personal documents like planners, task lists, my journal, CV or quick letters and much more... you just need to use your imagination.

Vorteile:

I use this application both in my personal and professional spheres for my business, which is a beauty salon.

Nachteile:

I have no complaints at all so far. It is totally easy to use from your phone and is completely simple but understandable once you get used to it.

Good but could be better

Vorteile:

Works well with the basics and does everything you would expect from a word processing software

Nachteile:

If you're used to Microsoft Word, it can be hard to get used to Apple Pages. The layout of the controls can be confusing and it's hard to navigate around for beginners

Great for your document writing needs

Kommentare: It has been good. I use it because it already comes with my Mac laptop and I enjoy how the table making feature looks which I use a lot.

Vorteile:

The clean layout makes it easy to focus on my document

Nachteile:

It won't auto capitalize the first word in a sentence.

There is a learning curve to using Pages if you are more familiar with other word processors.

The best but flawed alternative to MS Office

Kommentare: Despite the bugs, it is my best tool to work on Mac and iPad.

Vorteile:

It is simple. It is quick. It is reliable. It is easy to access. Pages is a useful tool for quickly creating and editing documents. You can easily write a letter, design a document, and share it with your iPad to continue working on it later.It grew in its functionalities and is getting better and better with years.

Nachteile:

It is still missing some functionalities or those features are limited in comparison with MS Office, the tool Apple claims to be the successor to with iWork Suite. Sometimes Pages crashes due to iCloud syncing problems, I suppose. To embed fonts is not possible or fonts used on Mac are missing then on iPad when one wants to continue ones work there. Sadly.

Included with my MacBook Air

Kommentare: Overall, Pages works how it should and it has very useful templates.

Vorteile:

I like that Pages is included with my MacBook Air. Many years back when I had a PC, I was used to their word processing program and it was an easy transition.

Nachteile:

It took a minute to get used to it but after 2-4 uses it came naturally.

Useful tool, with quite a modern design compared to other options

Kommentare: I liked using Pages for writing and editing text - however, I used Word if I needed to share the file later with another editor.

Vorteile:

I like using Pages to write and edit text. Their design is more modern and intuitive than other options.

Nachteile:

People are usually used to other options such as Word suite and non Apple users cannot easily open Pages files if not sent on PDF.

Pages Review

Kommentare: It is simple to use, has some great templates which make setting documents up like such as a resume or invoice very straight forward. It best aspect would be the simplicity of it's user interface and ease of use.

Vorteile:

The ability to use pages across multiple devices and it updates live without needing to be saved.

Nachteile:

It's not very compatible with Microsoft devices. Although you can export to Microsoft word and PDF sometimes formatting doesn't match with how you have it set up in pages.

Pages

Vorteile:

The feature that I like and use the most is templates. There is a variety of different apps you can download with new templates for Pages.

Nachteile:

The thing that I least like about Pages is the lack of features and integrations.

In Love...It's like Word, Publisher, and Illustrator all rolled into one.

Kommentare: I have been using Pages since I got my first Mac computer in 2000. I love this program, especially since I work in Marketing and always need to make things look nice. I design almost everything on Pages and I love going into meetings knowing I have the best looking resources and reports!

Vorteile:

This is my FAVORITE program. It is my go to for almost everything. I do a lot of design work for my job and I used to default to Illustrator or other design programs for most of my work, but now I use Pages for 90% of all my work and only open those other programs when I need a specific design feature that doesn't exist in Pages.

Nachteile:

The only few issues I have found with Pages: 1. Exporting simple documents to Word files (.doc) works great, but files that have a ton of design elements don't export well. I can create PDFs in most cases so it works fine, but occasionally I wish the designs elements integrated better with the Word export. 2. They recently added a mail merge feature, but it is still missing the ability to merge lists into address labels or other documents. they have started working on it though so I have high hopes for the next version. 3. I love this program so much and I hate that I can't share it with my co-workers who don't work on Mac. People are always asking how I did something on my documents/design and I hate that they can't do it on their Word or other document editor.

Pages is a great choice.

Kommentare: I enjoy working with pages. I use other document software as well, but pages is my go to if I can us it.

Vorteile:

Ive worked on many document creating systems. Pages is my favorite for creating a document from scratch. I've found it has more versatility and ease compared to other products. It allows for creativity without needing to move to adobe illustrator or the like (don't get me wrong, it is not the same as AI). Great for tables/graphs and integrates well with numbers.

Nachteile:

There is a learning curve if you are not familiar with the operating system. It takes a moment to become familiar and find what you need. That being said, the help menu typically solves my problems in 30s or less.

I Love Pages - Great Word Processor Alternative

Kommentare: Any time I go to write a script, list, or anything, I open Pages and never really think twice. It's a perfect word processor and I really urge anyone who's overpaying for word to check it out. Of course, if you don't have an Apple machine, you'll have to use a browser version, but with some experience there, I'd say that's serviceable as well.

Vorteile:

Honestly, I love Pages. Obviously, market share goes to Microsoft Word, but I started using Pages when it went free when I was in University and I never went back. I use it any time I'm writing something for personal reasons, and I don't see why I'd ever change. It's completely free and has any feature you'd want.

Nachteile:

There's really nothing to dislike about Pages. I've used it for over a decade and have never really had a complaint.

Pages is a viable alternative to Word or Google Docs.

Kommentare: I use Pages for routine correspondence, creating legal briefs, writing reports and formalising research from my note taking application. Additionally, I use Pages to open Word documents sent to me by other lawyers and I have never experienced any issue in terms of formatting.

Vorteile:

I work as a Lawyer and was initially very hesitant to use Pages, I had no reason to be cautious! Pages has a different menu layout and doesn't seem to copy over anything from Microsoft Word. Having said that, it's very user intuitive and I found myself accessing complex features easily and quickly. I feel confident in my writing reports all day, creating and saving templates, inserting media if required and everything else a solid word processor needs. Finally, because it's Apple, the application runs quickly and seamlessly. This isn't to mention the benefits from using Apple products and services as far as the ecosystem is concerned.

Nachteile:

I originally thought the lack of features would prohibit me from properly using Pages. The reality is all the necessary functionality is there with few exceptions.

Pages is MS Word on steroids.

Kommentare: We use Pages daily for writing sophisticated video scripts as well as business proposals. It is so intuitive to use that you never feel yourself "fighting" the application to get anything accomplished. It is truly best in class among any of it's competition.

Vorteile:

The layout, ease of use, and insert capabilities make Pages the best option for document creation, period. Also, special mention should be noted of how many customization options are included to fine tune to your work preferences.

Nachteile:

Honestly there's not any qualities about Pages that I find troubling. It is by far the most flexible authoring software available.

Alternative to Microsoft Word

Vorteile:

Since Apple's Pages is free, I’ve used it for several years for desktop publishing projects, including brochures, fliers, PDF downloads, guides, etc. Pages is fairly easy to use for simple projects, but I wouldn't suggest using it for writing a book. I suggest Scrivener instead. Pages is also useful for sharing projects with collaborators, as well as reading your documents on the iPad. Pages also includes templates for various types of projects like brochures, but honestly, it's easier and better to use Canva, the online graphic design tool.

Nachteile:

A little challenging to learn advanced features like page and document formatting.

Really good alternative to Word

It’s really intuitive and easy to use, also already comes with the IOS so it’s super easy to use

Could have more templates and an option to use without downloading

Cannot replace MS Word, but still Great!

Vorteile:

Pages, like Keynote, is super easy to use. It may take some conditioning after using MS Word for sometime but it's fluid. If you're looking to customise and play around with blank pages and create something unique, Pages is here for you.

Nachteile:

Standardizing documents is not the strongest feature of Pages. While the functionality is present, it is not as intuitive to use as compared to MS Word or even Google Docs. Secondly, collaboration is not easy and while working remotely you do want co-workers to view and edit at the same time as you.

Gives Microsoft word a run for its money

Kommentare: I’m an apple user, so I have used it off and on for awhile now. It’s really nice to be able to start something on your phone and pick up your iPad or Mac and resume or make adjustments.

Vorteile:

It’s really easy to use, and if you are an apple user, it’s already on most devices. It’s great for using to make presentations, a letter or a memo. I enjoy the variety of fonts and colors available and the layouts you can opt to use. Even though it’s free, it still looks amazingly professional.

Nachteile:

I haven’t really came across much that I don’t like yet.

endless possibility

Vorteile:

This is such an amazing program with so much potential. Now a days easy to use and share information in the apple world. You can use this in your fun, tablet, laptop share and update information anywhere you go.

Nachteile:

Still not globally use with other software systems. That may be a challenge for some people.

Not quite InDesign or Affinity Publisher, but a great free alternative.

Kommentare: If you're creating simple documents, or even media-loaded ebooks on a Mac, Pages is really powerful software considering it's free. It even streamlines uploading ebooks directly to the Apple Bookstore. And for not being professional software, it's giving Affinity and Adobe a run for their money.

Vorteile:

If you use a Mac, the tight integration with the OS is a dream. We also enjoy the rich Ebook export features. We just finished a digital press kit for a client with embedded photo carousels and music and found that recipients of the ebook version were more likely to respond because of the experience. And putting that experience together was much easier than professional software from Affinity or Adobe.

Nachteile:

Well, Pages isn't professional software and lacks advanced integrations (like Adobe Bridge) with all your connected brand resources. Calling the photo picker loads the local Photos library. Music picker loads the local music library, etc. I haven't used the software with MacOS Server, so I don't know if that changes things.

Better than Word - for some things

Kommentare: I love using it especially for a bit more graphically complex documents, such as an 8 page annual report on my company to investors. It does not reach the pro levels of a layout app such as Adobe's InDesign, but for my purposes those are mostly overkill and as I have a Mac and Pages comes free with the OS, it's not a difficult choice.

Vorteile:

If you want to make a fancy looking PDF report or newsletter Pages does a way better job than MS Word. Especially when it comes to graphics, text and photos in multiple layers. Things just go where you put them and then stay there and its fantastically easy to use.

Nachteile:

I have not really tried the collaborative features, mainly because most colleges and clients use MS Word, where these features are definitely robust (when writing a document that contains mainly text and needs input from others, I thus use MS Word more). Part of this issue is that Pages is only meaningfully available within Apple's walled garden (although you can use the online version at iCloud.com for free) so, collaboration will not work across many desks.

Review of the app Pages

Kommentare: There has not been a single day in the past 6 years where the documents created by the Pages app are not used. Pages is a really powerful software. The majority of my colleagues and schoolmates use this app on a daily basis just like I did. It is simple, clean and definitely most effective. Everyone needs to keep up with this age and remember to use it for your jobs!

Pages is a great software to start creating any type of document. It is very versatile with a wide variety of templates to choose from. It is a crucial app for students as it gives a headstart to start writing. The program is easy to navigate through. Putting images, icons, stickers and other related attachments come without a hassle. Pages give anyone the ability to produce a great standard of documents, with the best templates. You will definitely love Pages. I highly suggest you begin your writing journey with Pages today.

Nachteile:

There are a few drawbacks of the Pages app. I think some functions can be a little bit too sensitive and it may be quite easy to lose the product that you are working on if you are not careful. This app is also not user-friendly as it can only be accessed by Apple product users only. Although neat, I find that the Pages app is lacking in terms of creativity and style as some designs are a bit old style. However, this app is certainly better than most out there.

The best alternative out there

Kommentare: In my opinion it is a great alternative to Microsoft Word, if you have Apple devices, it is the best option. A simple program, but well thought out. One of the best word processors on the market.

Vorteile:

It's a great word processor, it's simple but intuitive, it has all the necessary tools and features for everyday use, and the interface is clean, minimalist, and easy to use. Integration with the entire Apple ecosystem is a great addition. The mobile versions are very well optimized, which helps a better adaptation. In conclusion, it is a great word processor.

Nachteile:

It has very few weak points, perhaps it needs to optimize the web version of the program, but it is a simple program and very well thought out, it has enough and that is enough.
